Chainsaw Plankton wrote:that said with some of the drops that are possible you have to go low on the RNG, and that can result in a whole lot of nothing special. With the BR event most sites had loot, but with this one you can (supposedly) get a plex, and that is worth a bunch of the BR accelerators.
Even for someone like me, I'd probably get a plex faster via my domi grinding L4s. Too much competition in high, too much activity in the null region nearby for my liking.

Yeah, there seems to be 2 groups of people when it comes to dissatisfaction with the event:
1. I can't find it/someone stole the only one I found/etc These are the people are trying and failing at the event. I'm not sure how I should feel about this. On one hand this is EVE online and everything you do is a competition. On the other hand, I'm in this group, I just resubbed after awhile, and not being able to take part in a holiday event that involves blowing crap up is frustrating.
2. I've run it and it's boring From everything I've read, getting into one of these sites completely depends where you are. For the people facing a bonanza of them... they don't seem to be entirely thrilled with it. It seems like it was aimed at everyone who can get into a cruiser (almost everyone playing the game) so the difficulty and rewards of the site were toned down on purpose.
One one hand, this might encourage people to stop going to the sites over time... if it lasts that long. On the other, it seems like the skill level of the site isn't aimed at the skill level of the people who are actually getting into them.
My thoughts? This bothers me because it sounds like the level of effort to reward is completely out of whack. I'm kind of glad that it is encouraging people to explore (I even went into a bloody wormhole for the first time trying to find one). On the other hand, if the people who are getting into them aren't enjoying the content, something is clearly wrong with the design and mechanics of this event.
In terms of content difficulty, this seems like it was aimed at newbies and high sec carebears. In terms of content availability, it seems like it was aimed at a quarter of the people who have a svipul and no one else. Part of me is wondering if the devs were hoping stuff like ninjas would lead to fights, only that the ninjas have svipuls and the other guys don't meaning you can't do anything to the ninjas as they'll either get away or get to kill you for your effort.
So I guess the best summery for this event is boredom and butthurt.

It's not aimed at high-sec carebears, because high-sec spawns are practically non-existant. And it's definitely not aimed at newbies, since they typically lack the ship/skills/damage to be able to complete these before they get sniped.
Yet if you take other players out of the equation, the sites themselves are dreadfully simple and easy.
There were probably better ways to do this event, either way.
